The poster will discuss the work undertaken for the Higher Education Academy Development Fund project: 'Efficacy and appropriate use of electronic assessment techniques for computing subjects'. The project is investigating whether innovative electronic assessment methods used for computing students at Sheffield Hallam University, such as phase tests which utilise electronic marking and feedback, enhance students' learning and offer suitable feedback. The project also explores the impact of these assessment methods on staff, especially in terms of time and workload, and their perception of the success of the methods.
