The reactions of MoO2Cl2 with 15-crown-5 and 18-crown-6 in ether solution produced crystals of [MoO2Cl2(H2O)(2)] center dot (15-crown-5) and [MoO2Cl2(H2O)(2)] center dot (H2O)(2) center dot (18-crown-6) due to adventitious water. Further hydrolysis lead to crystals of [(H3O) center dot (crown)](2)-[Mo6O19]. The structures of the three complexes are briefly discussed
