Voluntary membership and cooperative identity in Mexican cooperative enterprises

Voluntary membership is one of the most important principles for a cooperative enterprise may exist, because this is only possible when there is will of each person to enter the organization, in order to solve their problems and limitations through mutual aid and the collective effort. This principle is recognized in the Declaration of Cooperative Identity of 1995. However, following some observations of the writer Alicia Kaplan, some problems derived from the voluntary membership are analyzed, in order to know the way in which they are projected in the General Law of Cooperative Societies in Mexico.Received: 18 April 2017Accepted: 14 October 2017Published online: 22 December 2017
