Objective To investigate the effect of TNF-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWAEK) and its receptor fibroblast growth factor-inducible 14 (Fn14) on the migration of hepatic stellate cells and the possible mechanism. Methods The human hepatic stellate cell line LX-2 cells were treated with TWEAK or Fn14 specific small interfering RNA (Fn14 siRNA)+TWEAK. Transwell chamber was used to observe the migration of hepatic stellate cells, and real-time PCR and Western blot were used to measure the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9).
