One of the major goals of the project EuLakes (European Lakes Under Environmental Stressors, Supporting lake governance to mitigate the impact of climate change, Reg. N. 2CE243P3), launched in April 2010 within the Central European Initiative, consists in the assessment of ecological status and future vulnerability of large European Lakes of high socio-economic relevance, respect to both large scale (i.e. climate change) and local scale (i.e. land use, tourism) environmental changes.
