In order to determine whether the fibers obtained meet the processing requirements in the extraction of wood fiber, the fibers need to be measured. The width of the fiber is usually obtained through manual measurement that requires sophisticated equipment, the error is large and the detection speed is slow. For solving this problem, a fast measurement based on image processing method was proposed to improve efficiency. Extracting fiber contour by the edge detection algorithm, combining connectivity area fulfills and binarization, the fiber region is completely extracted from the image.
