Perubahan Kondisi Lingkungan di Sekitar Perumahan Baru Graha Padma, Semarang Barat

The increasing of population density causes great demands of residence. The escalating demands lead to the changes of land use which used to be non- built-up lands becomes built-up lands. The circumstance which is occurred around a new residence, Graha Padma, West Semarang, exerts a moderate number of harmful effects for environment. Infrastructure developments, for instance roads and drainage systems, also bring some effects for the environmental change around Graha Padma. The purpose of this research is to analyze the environmental change occurred around Graha Padma, West Semarang. The method carried out in this research was qualitative by descriptive qualitative technical analysis. The outputs of this research to see the transformation of the environmental condition of surrounding residence are the changing of land use, shape of housing, infrastructure conditions, such as roads and drainages, also jobs of the residents in the old residence, Tambakharjo. The land use change includes the change from rice fields and fishponds to residential area. Infrastructure change consists of the constriction of drainage systems; meanwhile the road quality improvement becomes the implementation of road infrastructure change. The shape of housing is modified by leveling up the ground floor around 1-2 meters. The residents' jobs, especially Tambakharjo people, are mostly adjusted. They formerly worked as farmers; nonetheless they currently work for Graha Padma
