This study aims to improve student learning activities in reading beginning in grade 1 State Elementary School 7 spy Kayong District North West Kalimantan Province. The research method used is descriptive method. The sample was 30 students. The results of this study, it was concluded that the method of Structural Analytical Synthetic proven to improve students' learning activities. The ability of teachers prepare lesson plans increased by 0.61. The ability of teachers in implementing the learning increased by 0.48. Student learning activity increased with the percentage of 7%. Based on the conclusions of SAS can be used as an alternative method in an effort to improve student learning activities in reading the beginning.
