When the eye gazes at a colored stimulus over a certain length of time, it becomes fatigued and perceives the stimulus differently after it has adapted to it than when it first viewed it. An instrument has been designed, built, and tested and the results indicate that there is a significant difference between the fatigued eye and the fresh eye and that this difference can be expressed in colorimetric terms
