Uwarunkowania dalszego rozwoju niepaństwowego szkolnictwa wyższego w Polsce

The author discusses the factors which have led to the development of non-state higher education institutions offering economic courses, chosen by about 80% of the students of this sector of higher education. If these colleges are to survive, they must improve the quality of their services. Improvement is urgently needed in two areas: “college management” in the broad sense and the “educational system” itself. College management includes: change of style of management, shifting from a purely commercial approach to the development of “enterprise culture, marketing orientation, cooperation with business, development and deepening of various forms of co-operation between colleges, greater contribution to the creation and development of the ‘teaching system’ in the region, widening and diversification of financial sources, more stringent and better control and evaluation (both internal and external, official and community) of the quality of teaching, and the creation and development of own teaching and research faculties”. When discussing the factors resulting from the “educational system”, the author includes the academic nature of syllabuses, research as the condition sine qua non of the existence of higher education establishments, deepening of sources of information and application of up-to-date communications technology, study internationalisation, developing student co-responsibility for the quality of teaching and student selection.W artykule omówiono uwarunkowania rozwoju uczelni niepaństwowych oferujących ekonomiczne kierunki studiów, na których kształci się około 80% wszystkich studentów tego sektora szkolnictwa wyższego. Warunkiem utrzymania się na rynku tych uczelni jest istotne podniesienie jakości oferowanych usług. Podstawowe uwarunkowania tej poprawy wynikają z szeroko pojętego zarządzania uczelnią oraz z samego systemu kształcenia. Do pierwszej grupy uwarunkowań zaliczono: zmianę stylu zarządzania, przesunięcie komercyjnego nastawienia uczelni w kierunku tworzenia „kultury przedsiębiorczości” , orientację marketingową, współpracę z biznesem, rozwinięcie i pogłębienie różnych form kooperacji między uczelniami, zwiększenie wkładu szkół wyższych w tworzenie i rozwijanie „systemu uczącego” w regionie, poszerzenie i dywersyfikację źródeł finansowania, zaostrzenie i rozwinięcie kontroli oraz oceny jakości kształcenia zarówno wewnętrznej, jak i zewnętrznej, urzędowej i środowiskowej, a także tworzenie i rozwój własnej kadry nauczającej i badawczej. Omawiając czynniki wynikające z systemu kształcenia, uwzględniono akademickość programów studiów, badania jako podstawowy warunek istnienia szkoły wyższej, pogłębienie źródeł informacji, wykorzystanie współczesnych technologii komunikacji, internacjonalizację studiów, rozwijanie wśród studentów współodpowiedzialności za jakość kształcenia oraz selekcję przy naborze i w trakcie studiów
