The purpose of this paper is to study the unparalleled economic growth of China focusing especially on the availability of cheap labour, rising GDP per capita and potential labour shortages faced in key sectors. Additionally, the paper will look into the reasons why China should reduce its reliance on producing low margin goods for the Western organisations and develop its own sustainable brands whereby higher levels of margin and thus profit are retained within China. The method selected for the study is qualitative as this is most suitable method given the nature of the topic.
