FIGURE 15. The setting of this Malaise trap, a ragged backyard in Färjestaden, Öland, is an unspectacular-looking place proven to be the only distribution in Sweden of the rare asynaptine Epicola mirabilis. Situated right behind the trap, the large pile of dead branches of young birch trees is a potential habitat of mycophagous gall midge larvae. Additionally, the trap is fed with decaying wood from the immediate vicinity (photo taken on 24 April 2015)
