The purpose of this study is to consider coastal regional division in Japan by the distribution of main places of fisheries\u27 headquarters and fish-landing ports. This study uses principal component analysis for summarization of regional statistics and cluster analysis for classification of places. Main fisheries\u27 headquarters are identified as 193 places with fish-catch more than 2500 million yen in 2003,or with fishermen more than 500 person in 2003 (Table 2).
