"Criteria for recommended standard occupational exposure to cresol (93516) have been established and are presented. Criteria and recommendations for cresol apply to the o, m, p, isomers or to any combination of the three isomers in a mixture. In addition, these criteria and recommendations will apply to cresylic-acid (93516) mixtures that contain cresol. Occupational injury from cresol exposure is from skin contact and inhalation. Concentrations of cresol in workplace air on a time weighted average 40 hr week can be no more than 10mg/m3. Procedures for the collection and analysis of environmental samples are given.
