Significant increases have been seen over the past 10 years in hypertension awareness, treatment, and control among adults with hypertension. However, less than 50% of adults with hypertension controlled their blood pressure (BP) in 2007\ue2\u20ac\u201c2008 (1). The high prevalence of undiagnosed and uncontrolled hypertension, especially among minority groups, remains a challenge (2,3).
