KEY DEVELOPMENTS\uef\u201a\ub7 Government authorities and response organizations in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone are strengthening detection and response capacities to rapidly identify and contain future Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) cases. Active surveillance continues in high-risk areas throughout each country.\uef\u201a\ub7 To strengthen response capacity in Liberia, USAID/OFDA recently committed nearly $8.7 million in FY 2016 funding to support the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and seven other implementing partners to develop a national epidemic preparedness and response (EPR) consortium.
