Objective: To choose models of psychodynamic psychotherapy that will work within the characteristics and constraints of Public Sector mental health practice without compromising nuancing and depth. Conclusions: The authors briefly describe the development of the Gold Coast Integrated Mental Health Services Psychotherapy Programme, and the processes which have informed their selection of suitable psychodynamic models. They recommend IPT (Interpersonal Therapy) and the Conversational Model
