Language and culture are said to become indivisible as language signifies its cultural context in which it is used. In foreign language learning, the cultural aspects of language can be conveyed through the language materials, including textbook. Therefore, this study attempts to analyze the representation of culture in two English textbooks for senior high school in Indonesia: Developing English Competencies and Interlanguage. The reading passages from the two textbooks were analyzed in order to see what types of culture are presented in the textbooks and how the cultural content is represented.
