Business Information Visualization (BIV) is increasingly recognized in research and practice. Nevertheless, studies show that BIV is often inappropriately applied in business reporting, which may lead decision makers to wrong conclusions. Users who create these reports complain about difficulties to implement appropriate BIV due to insufficient software support. As a result BIV acceptance suffers. A promising approach to overcome this are user assistance systems (UAS). Hence, the overarching goal of our research project is to gain insight to what extent UAS affect the acceptance of BIV.
