Hypoglycemia may occur as a component of type 1 multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome. Insulinomas are rare tumors that often present a diagnostic dilemma for the clinician. The presence of inappropriately high plasma insulin and C-peptide concentrations at the time of symptomatic fasting hypoglycemia confirms the diagnosis of insulinoma. A.
