This paper investigates situating of ubiquitous computing within our current everyday environments. We describe how tying information to actual physical locations can improve the usefulness of ubiquitous computing envi- ronments and promote the use of ubiquitous computing services. It is envi- sioned that these environments will emerge as a social framework for informa- tion distribution, and that this form of interaction will maintain user privacy, provide a new mechanism for social interaction and situate pervasive comput- ing environments in community supportive roles.Griffith Sciences, School of Information and Communication TechnologyNo Full Tex
