The purpose for this research paper is to bring clarity to the current English Language Learner programs present in our public-school systems and how effective they are in educating our immigrant children here in America. The research I have done provides an overview of what history has accomplished in relation to educating immigrant children, the barriers that immigrant children and their families face in their social environment that affects their education, and how policies can change to improve their education and aid our immigrant children in accomplishing achievement scholastically.
