The present study analyzes intimate relationships through application of work-family conflict (WFC) and the relational turbulence theory (RTT). This study aims to identify exogenous, or upstream, variables of RTT and their points of overlap in the WFC sphere. Specifically, the points of intersection include stress, destructive communication, decrease in satisfaction, and physical and mental illnesses. To understand the nature and presence of these corresponding variables, a qualitative study was conducted. An online questionnaire was distributed to individuals engaged in a marriage relationship. Results categorize experiences of work-family conflict, turbulence, and uncertainty and examine ways to combat their presence in daily life
