Se resalta la posición estratégica de la teoría de adquisición de segundas lenguas como puerta de entrada al proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, específicamente, del idioma inglés. Aspecto esencial es que la enseñanza de lenguas, basada en el paradigma positivista, que impulsa el movimiento de la globalización de los mercados mundiales que rige las actuales relaciones de producción en el mundo occidentalizado, no es capaz de contribuir a la justicia social. Como alternativa, se propone un enfoque nuevo y emancipatorio, al estilo de las teorías socioculturales de adquisición de segundas lenguas como una guía para ese fin.
