Long cane pruning cannot be performed with actual machines which do not allow the selection and the saving of the desired wood. A research is being conducted to design a system enabling such an automatic selection. The system is made of an image processing which allows to individualise and to track the different woods in the image. The system is also made of a decision device which simulates the pruner reasoning by choosing the most appropriate long wood to lat according to wood features measurements in the image.
