Beyond the 1989-90 campaign results, the analysis covers the evolutions of a group of 30 "promising' farms since the application of quotas in 1984-85. It indicates the different alternatives available to these farms which are classified into different profiles depending on their functioning logics. The first results of a survey conducted by the Cemagref on 600 farms monitored by the CER 43 are also mentioned: the main types of dairy farms are described and reflexion topics are suggested on the adaptation abilities of these mountain farms.
