Only tertiary activities, considered in the past as induced activities, have seen their importance grow in the economy of the Vosges Massif. They are also likely, especially touristic services, to play a major role in the development of the economic and human fabric of the massif and to form a development lever. A first analysis of the employment market structure in the massif was realized in order to highlight the main axes that govern its functioning, and bring evaluation elements on the localization and function of services and poles, and between these poles and associated rural areas.
