Diversité spécifique et écologique des végétations des alpages laitiers des Alpes françaises du nord

Based on an agricultural and ecological typology of the plant populations of the dairy mountain pastures of the north-western part of the French Alps counting about 200 linear readings, the authors analyze the biological diversity of these types of vegetation in terms of specific diversity. The latter is reflected by three indicators: the specific wealth, the Shannon index, and equitability. To enrich the structural information of diversity by an ecological information, the Shannon index is also expressed as a function of the ecological positioning of the stations along two gradients combining fertility, humidity and altitude, represented by the first axes of the factorial analysis of the correspondances which have served to define the typology. These plant populations submitted to ecological conditions that are typical of altitude environments, the grazing of herds and also to moderate organic fertilization exhibit a very good specific diversity, the variations of which are highly dependent on stational ecological conditions. When these conditions are not extreme, the agricultural and range practices, which improve productivity as well as use value for grazing, do permit the maintenance of this high level specific diversity. An extension of this project is being considered in terms of factorial ecological diversity (measurement of the species dispersal along an ecological gradient expressed by each of the axes of the factorial analysis of correspondances) and in terms of spatial ecological diversity. / A partir d'une typologie agro-écologique des végétations des alpages laitiers des Alpes françaises nord-occidentales, portant sur environ 200 relevés linéaires de végétation, les auteurs analysent la diversité biologique de ces types de végétations en termes de diversité spécifique. Celle-ci est traduite par trois indicateurs : la richesse spécifique, l'indice de Shannon, l'équitabilité. Pour enrichir l'information structurelle de la diversité par une information écologique, l'indice de Shanon, est également exprimé en fonction du positionnement écologique des stations le long de deux gradients combinant fertilité, humidité et altitude, représentés par les deux premiers axes de l'analyse factorielle des correspondances ayant servi à l'élaboration de la typologie. Ces végétations soumises aux conditions écologiques des milieux d'altitude, à l'action du pâturage des troupeaux domestiques, mais également à des pratiques modérées de fertilisation organique, présentent une très bonne diversité spécifique dont les variations sont fortement dépendantes des conditions écologiques stationnelles. Lorsque ces conditions ne sont pas extrêmes, les pratiques agro-pastorales qui améliorent notablement le niveau de productivité ainsi que la valeur d'usage pour le pâturage, permettent le maintien de cette diversité spécifique à niveau élevé. Des perspectives de prolongement de ces travaux sont évoquées, d'une part en termes de diversité écologique factorielle (mesure de la dispersion des espèces d'un relevé le long d'un gradient écologique exprimé par chacun des axes de l'AFC), d'autre part en termes de diversité écologique spatiale
