A research in Romagna , an Italian region with a dominance of co-operative, has been developed with the purpose to understand the factors of choice in wineries waste water treatment sector. In a first step we considered that the choice is based on the total annual cost. We considered also that the only two alternatives in Romagna wineries are on site treatment with activated sludge or connection to the public sewer system. In fact those are two methods surveyed during a study in 1991. From this base of data we developed a choice simulation model for the winery.
