Physical modeling of blowing snow in a wind-tunnel allows to simulate snowdrifts. But in fact, it is impossible to reproduce cornices or snowdrifts on steep slopes and it is difficult to estimate accurately the duration of a snowstorm. Therefore, we turned towards numerical modeling. The first step in numerical modeling consists in simplifying complex mechanisms using several hypotheses. But it is necessary to confirm these hypotheses for simple cases. The use of the solid mass concentration equation in the suspension layer with a simple model for the saltation layer gives a spatial distribution of the particles concentration very close to the experimental data obtained in a wind-tunnel.
