Members of the suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) family are crucial for the control of a variety of signal transduction pathways that are involved in the immunity, growth and development of organisms. However, in mollusks, the identity and function of SOCS proteins remain largely unclear. In the present study, three SOCS genes, CgSOCS2, CgSOCS5 and CgSOCS7, have been identified by searching and analyzing the Pacific oyster genome. Structural analysis indicated that the CgSOCS share conserved functional domains with their vertebrate counterparts.
