Peroxynitrite is a derivative of nitric oxide and formed by the rapid diffusion controlled reaction between nitric oxide and superoxide. It is a highly reactive and unstable oxidant. In this review, the main discussions include chemiluminescence (CL) decomposition and measurement of peroxynitrite, its CL reaction with CO2 and application in CL.
