Assessment of the Engineering Management Program at Portland State University

The Engineering Management Program at Portland State University is a graduate program designed to address the needs of engineers and scientist whose objective it is, to advance to technical management positions in business, industry, or government. The program has existed for about ten years and appears to be successful, however, there has been relatively little measurable feedback on the effectiveness of the program. To maintain and improve the quality of the program, it was necessary to assess the level to which it was meeting its objectives. Does participation in the PSU Engineering management Program have a positive impact on the participant\u27s professional development and career success? A recent survey of the program\u27s students and alumni indicated that although there is room for improvement, the Engineering Management Program is not only meeting its objectives, but is also positively impacting the students who participate in the program
