The aim of this study was to investigate intervention strategies that have the potential to produce treatments reducing rotavirus-related disease in swine. Rotavirus is the biggest cause of viral gastroenteritis in young swine so is a huge economic burden to farmers.\ud Cell lines deficient for innate anti-viral mechanisms were used to passage rotavirus. This novel vaccine strategy was investigated for its ability to elicit virus that is dependent on the modified cell lines for efficient replication and growth.
