Smart functional nanoparticles have attracted considerable interest over the last few years due to their unique properties and behaviours, which could be used in a wide range of applications such as diagnostics and drug delivery. Nanoparticles based on polyacrylamide matrices were constructed using free radical polymerisation methodology. Moreover, newly designed azido, alkyne and maleimido functional groups bearing nanoparticles were synthesised, and their unique chemical properties were comprehensively evaluated.
