Computation of residual stresses and deformations in a multi pass butt welded thick plate

Consulta en la Biblioteca ETSI Industriales (9198)[EN] This work describes the process realized in order to get an idea about the influence of stiffness in the residual stresses and deformations in welding process. A specific case is given, where the same weld is affected by two different stiffness. A welding simulation is applied in both parts under the same thermal conditions, with the finite element computer program Ansys. The residual stresses and deformations at the end of the simulation process are analysed, reviewing different distributions for these phenomena.Miquel Estrugo, A. (2012).
