Port-city development in Rotterdam: A true love story

This article tells the story of how city and the port have found a joint development strategy for Rotterdam’s CityPorts during the past decade. The process has resulted in more realistic, so-called ‘organic’ development plans, which mark the emergence of a new relationship between the port and the city. In essence, Rotterdam has produced new ways of thinking and acting with regard to the areas ‘between city and port’.
