Chlorine-stabilised antimony oxide glass has been shown to have a composition similar to that of crystalline onoratoite, Sb8O11Cl2; this has been chemically synthesised and vitrified for comparison with the original glass. Raman spectroscopy suggests that antimony oxychloride glass has a structure based upon onoratoite. Neutron diffraction spectra of both the crystalline and vitreous material have been acquired. The neutron data provide supporting evidence for the results of the Raman spectroscopy and a comparison of the crystalline data with two earlier models of the structure is discussed
