ON THE REACTIONS OF [RUCL2(PPH3)3] WITH THIA CROWN ETHERS - MOLECULAR-STRUCTURES OF [RUCL2(PPH3)([9]ANES3)] ([9]ANES3 = 1,4,7-TRITHIACYCLONONANE) AND [RUCL(PPH3)([14]ANES4)CLO4 ([14]ANES4 = 1,4,8,11-TETRATHIACYCLOTETRADECANE)

The reaction of [RuCl2(PPh3)3] with 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane ([9]aneS3) gives the neutral complex [RuCl2(PPh3)([9]aneS3)] while the same complex with 1,4,8,11-tetrathiacyclotetradecane ([14]aneS4) followed by chloride-perchlorate metathesis provides the salt cis-[RuCl(PPh3)([14]aneS4)]ClO4. The structures of both complexes have been determined by X-ray crystallography
