This research explored the role of hope as an emotional component of outcome anticipation. It is assumed that people often face situations that require to predict and to construe what will happen the next moment. Sometimes the events have a reasonable degree of certainty, and people may predict the probabilities of attaining goals with some precision. In such situations people may formulate fairly rational expectations about the future events. On other occasions people face future events with a higher degree of uncertainty, and rational expectations may not be possible. Thus, people make emotional anticipations through hope.
