From introduction: The objectives of this study were to: (1) determine migration routes of adult American shad in the Turners Falls Pool particularly in the vicinity of the Northfield Mountain Pumped Storage Project during the pumping and discharge cycles, (2) determine if shad transported from Holyoke and released into the Turners Falls Pool spawn in the Connecticut River between Turners Falls, Massachusetts and Vernon, Vermont, (3) if spawning occurs, determine if juveniles emigrate safely, and without delay, past the Northfield plant
