This program will describe the process by which Framingham State University completed a self‐study (during 2007‐08) of the first‐year experience as part of the institution’s participation in Foundations of Excellence® in the First College Year, a model program guiding the assessment of the first year. Results of this self‐study will be shared, with an emphasis on highlighting examples of specific changes made in each of the nine dimensions of the first‐year experience. Through structured exercises and discussion, participants in this workshop will examine the first‐year experience at their home institutions and identify specific ideas for enhancing this experience for their students
