A Study on Industry Cluster Based Industrial-Technical Oriented Curriculum Development and Experiment of E-Learning

[[abstract]]E-Learning industry is one of the Two-Star industries in this country. It is believed that this industry will be beneficial to improve national economic situation and international competitiveness. There are two aspects in this industry including technical problem solving and instruction service. And the former part contains platform/instrument, project service and content provision to serve for enterprise, government and educational institutions. The latter part provides on-line instruction to serve for individual learning as assistance to traditional instruction. As an e-Learning worker , he/she must know how to use vehicle and assistive devices, to do e-learning network establishment, teaching material development and e-learning activity design to apply on network learning, computerized learning and e-cooperation. Up to the present, there are more than 15 departments and graduate institutions set up on the name of e-Learning at colleges. And most colleges offered e-learning related courses in the department of computer science, computer engineering, information management, information education, graphic communication, Chinese language teaching, digital reservation, digital advertisement and digital publish, etc. especially in the Technical Vocational colleges. It is estimated that the demand of e-Learning technician are still vast. The purpose of this research is to survey the demand of e-Learning technician and their required competences to develop a training curriculum to foster these competences with experimental instruction. The effectiveness will be evaluated after experimental instruction. A team teaching model will be conducted in cooperation between Technical Vocational Higher Education and Industry. A newly developed learning type of POPBL will be applied in this study. This subprogram integrates research members, industry manager and the representative of Technical Vocational College to enhance the education quality of their graduate and improve the quality of future technologist in e-Learning field. It is hope that their practical specialty can be strengthened for work purposes. Thus the purpose of call for research S541 of NSC can be fulfilled.
