[[abstract]]In this paper, a wide area monitoring system for detecting and tracking multiple targets in a wide range environment based on multiple omni-directional cameras is purposed. This system can be divided into the front end and the back end roughly. Foreground objects are detected in the front end and tracked in the back end. Cameras in the front end could be added to enlarge the monitoring area adaptively without changing architecture. It is currently applied to a realtime indoor parking system for tracking the trajectories of the vehicles.
