[[alternative]]A study on the subsidy and award mechanisms of the private elementary and junior high schools in Taipei municipality.

[[abstract]]The five purposes of the study are as follows: 1. Exploring the rationality of the subsidy and award mechanisms for the private elementary and junior high schools. 2. Understanding the relation of the present subsidy and award mechanisms and the financial operation of the private elementary and junior high schools in Taipei municipality. 3. Investigating correlative people’ perspectives about the feasible ways of the subsidy and award mechanisms in Taipei municipality. 4. Proposing the relevant suggestions of the subsidy and award mechanisms in Taipei municipality. In order to achieve the purposes mentioned above, this study adopts literature review and the interview. First, the researcher does the literature review which aims at the questions about the subsidy and award mechanisms. Second, the researcher uses interview to understand the opinions of interviewees in different fields, and to underpin the former literature analysis. According to the research results, the main conclusions of the study are as follows: 1. The rationality of the subsidy and award mechanisms for the private elementary and junior high schools: (1)The rationality of the subsidies depends on the definition about the role of the private elementary and junior high schools. (2)It is good for the local government to handle the distribution of subsidies. However the central government can play a balance role. (3)The targets of the awards and subsidies should both include schools and students. 2. The relation of the present subsidy and award mechanisms and the financial operation of the private elementary and junior high schools in Taipei municipality: (1)The government has only emphasized on subsidies not on awards for a long time. (2)The financial structure of the private elementary and junior high schools influences the future plan. (3)The different expectations of the government and the private elementary and junior high schools about subsidies resulted in the various degree of satisfaction. (4)The subsidies just assisted the financial operation of the private elementary and junior high schools partly. 3. The feasible ways of the subsidy and award mechanisms in Taipei municipality: (1)Interviewees had the common opinions about the subsidy and award mode gradually, but not about the criteria and ranges of the subsidy and award. (2)About the supervision of the private elementary and junior high schools, it’s better to take the students’ right into consideration. (3)Classifying private schools can facilitate diversity, but it’s not easy to realize.
