[[alternative]]A study on learning adjustments problem of 1st year students in the Department of Information Technology of Public Technical Vocational High School in Taipei county and city

[[abstract]]The aims of this research were to investigate the learning adjustments problem of the 1st year students in the Department of Information Technology of Public Technical Vocational High School. The sampling objects were 484 students of 2005-2006 school year cluster selected from the 1st year students in the Department of Information Technology of Public Technical Vocational High School in Taipei county and Taipei city. T-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe?s method were used to analyze the collected data. Some results are found as the followings: 1.The overall learning adaptability of 1st year students is good in the aspects of the attitude of study, the health of mind and the adaptation to the instruction. But they are not good at studying method, the personal relationship and making adjustment to the learning environment. 2.High school girls are superior to boys on the studying method and making adjustment to the learning environment. 3.Those who took low score of matriculation mathematics test have better performance in dealing with personal relationship and learning environment than other classmates with higher score. 4.Generally speaking, the students with better computer literacy are superior than other students in dealing with learning method, the attitude of study, the health of mind, personal relationship and learning environment 5.There is no significant difference in every aspect between those who have personal computer and those who without personal computer. 6.The students in Taipei County felt more satisfactory than the students in Taipei City on their learning environment, but for the instruction implementation, the students in Taipei City felt better than the students in Taipei County. 7.The family socio-economic status had no effect on student’s learning adaptability. Some suggestions were made for school administration, students’ parents, and educational policy makers. The study also highlights the direction that related researches could take in the future.
