[[abstract]]Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple, very flexible text format proposed by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). OpenGIS Consortium (OGC) specifies the Geography Markup Language (GML) in an XML encoding for the modeling, transport and storage of geographic information. Building complete geographic database needs efforts and resources. There is always a need to share and exchange geographic information among different organizations.
