A timber inventory based upon a systematic sampling has been realized (1980-1983) in the south part of Belgium. Among the main results which are now available it can be observed that spruce stands (Picea Abies KARST) represent 37 % (~ 197.000 hectares) of the Wallonian forest. These one are especially belonging to private owners (56,2 %). The distribution of spruce areas by age classes indicates that there are larger areas in the lower age classes (~~50 % inferior to 30 years). Original informations dealing with the spruce stands are also given such as : area distribution by altitude and slope classes, volume by girth classes, estimated areas by site classes.Un inventaire forestier par échantillonnage a été réalisé de 1980 à 1983 en Wal...
