Research toward this end was derived from a wide variety of sources, including published literature, theses and dissertations, studies and statistics, police ride-alongs, and personal interviews. The series includes a memorandum issued by Graham & James discussing the reasons why female officers are less inclined to use excessive force, as well as many of the firm's interview notes
