Κατασκευή δεικτών χωρικής συγκέντρωσης της οικονομικής δραστηριότητας και επιδράσεις των οικονομιών συγκέντρωσης στην οικονομική δραστηριότητα στην Ελλάδα

Purpose of this project is to study the industrial concentration of the financial activity in Greece and its influence in the expansion process. We have used data referred to corporations which each employ more than 20 workers, in 20 branches of industry in two-figure level in the primary and secondary production during the years 1984 and 1991. In the first part of the project we focus on the' evolution of Greek Industry during the postwar period and the barriers that is facing today. As we go on, we put emphasis on the concentration meaning: First the kinds of industrial concentration are referred, then, in an index-model, the forms of concentration, as well as the nature of business exchange are presented. What follows is an extensive report concerning the regional inequalities happening in Greece, which are tightly connected with the concentration of financial activities. In the third part, we mention the branches of industry that were used so as to create the rates used in the econometric analysis that follows in the other part. In the final part, according to the SPSS 110 programe, we present the results of the econometric analysis conducted on the rates which arouse from a previous study. The explanatory variables which were used are: Sectoral Specialization-Diversity of branches of Industry- SPE Population Density- den PL.PY Local Competition between corporations- COMP Average Plant Size- SLZE Verticalation of Production Index- VPI For the working out of the diplomatic project many related writings were used and much bibliography- Greek as well as foreign- was taken into consideration.
